Crooked House

In Agatha Christie's 1949 novel Crooked House, Charles Hayward investigates the fatal poisoning of wealthy patriarch Aristide Leonides inside his eccentric family mansion, discovering that the murderer was actually the victim's seemingly innocent 12-year-old granddaughter, Josephine, who killed him out of spite after he refused to pay for her ballet lessons.
