Khaled Hosseini

Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American author, physician, and humanitarian best known for writing emotionally powerful novels about Afghanistan, family, friendship, and resilience. He was born on March 4, 1965, in Kabul, Afghanistan. His family left Afghanistan in the late 1970s, and after living briefly in France, they sought asylum in the United States following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Hosseini later became a medical doctor before turning to writing full time.
